Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern the commissioning of all sign-painting, gold-leaf application, and restoration services provided by Brush & Gild. By accepting a project quote or paying a deposit, you agree to the conditions outlined below.

All work is carried out to the highest standard of traditional craftsmanship. Given the bespoke nature of hand-painted signage, slight variations in brushstrokes, lettering alignment, and gilding texture are inherent to the craft and are not considered defects.

Quotes are valid for thirty days from the date of issue. To secure a place in our studio schedule and allow us to procure specialized materials such as premium enamels and genuine gold leaf, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required before any design or physical work begins.

The remaining 50% balance must be paid in full upon project completion, prior to the final installation or delivery of the commissioned items. All materials remain the property of Brush & Gild until the final invoice is settled.

For custom commissions, a digital or hand-sketched proof will be provided for your review. It is the client's responsibility to verify all spellings, dimensions, and layout details during this phase.

Because sign-painting and gilding are permanent, physical processes, any design changes requested after final approval and the commencement of painting will incur additional charges to cover the cost of surface preparation and material replacement.

When working on-site, the client must ensure that surfaces (such as shopfront fascias, windows, or interior walls) are clean, structurally sound, and accessible on the agreed painting dates.

If surface delays or obstructions prevent us from carrying out scheduled work, a rescheduling fee may apply. Brush & Gild operates with comprehensive liability insurance for all on-site work.

We retain the copyright and intellectual property rights to all original sketches, conceptual layouts, and designs created during the development process. The client receives physical ownership of the completed signage.

We reserve the right to photograph completed projects, as well as work in progress, and use these images for portfolio demonstration and promotional purposes across our channels, unless a non-disclosure agreement is specifically requested prior to the start of the commission.
